Every Hand Makes a Difference
Our volunteers are the backbone of everything SPAWP does β from slash pile days to community workshops, from distributing materials to helping neighbors prepare their properties. No experience needed. Just a willingness to help.
Give Your Time
What Volunteers Do
Whether you have a few hours or a few days, there’s meaningful work waiting for you. Volunteers help with everything from physical mitigation work to behind-the-scenes support that keeps our programs running.
Slash Pile Days
Help collect and manage forest debris at community burn sites.
Event Support
Set up, break down, and help run workshops and community events.
Material Distribution
Deliver preparedness resources to neighborhoods and mailboxes.
Ambassador Support
Assist Neighborhood Ambassadors with coordination and logistics.
Professional Skills
Photography, writing, translation, social media, or tech skills.
Assessment Assistance
Support our Mitigation Specialist during property walk-throughs.
Time Commitment
Totally flexible. Some volunteers help at a single event each year. Others pitch in monthly. You decide what works for your schedule β there's no minimum requirement.
No experience needed
You don't need firefighting training or technical skills. If you can swing a rake, carry a box, or smile at a neighbor, you're qualified.
Your Impact
Why Volunteer Hours Matter
Every hour you give doesn’t just help our community β it helps SPAWP secure grant funding. Many grants require volunteer hour matching, which means your time directly multiplies our impact.
